INFORMATION FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2026-2027.
You can register online from Monday, April 27th, 2026. At 12 p.m. a pop-up will appear at the bottom of this page. Please use an email address you can use during registration. You will receive a weblink via that mail address to the actual registration tool.
Applications submitted before March 31st will not be taken into consideration for the academic year 2026-2027.
But first, we ask you to read through the following steps.
1. Check whether you can rent a room through Artevelde UAS
- You are enrolled/will enroll for at least 27 credits in an undergraduate or graduate program at Artevelde UAS;
- You are eligible for child benefits or have not yet reached the age of 25 at the time of your registration as a potential resident;
- You are a first-year degree-seeking student;
- You agree to the house rules.
Fact! You don't have to be enrolled in Artevelde UAS at the moment of your registration. However, you must have already started your application with admissions. You do need to be enrolled by the start of your rental period.
2. How are registrations and allocations done?
- Registrations for degree seeking students start on Monday, April 27th, 2026 at 12 p.m.
- Until Wednesday, May 6th, the following students will be given priority:
- Generation students: Students who enroll at Artevelde UAS for the first time in their first year.
- Students without priority: Starting May 7th, there will be no more priority registration. Then you will be added to a ranking based on your time of registration. First come, first served. So timely registration is key!
- Results of the registration: Did you register before May 6th? By May 19th, you will know whether or not you've been appointed a room. Students who registered after May 7th will be put on the waiting list.
- Waiting list: Are you on the waiting list? Know that there may still be cancellations. So there's a chance that you'll still be offered a room.
3. Some ground rules during registrations:
- Room preferences: You can assign three room types as preference. To enhance your chances of getting a room you can also choose which buildings you prefer and the maximum budget you have. The more choices you submit, the greater the chance of getting a room. Some rooms have extra facilities: a shower, a toilet and/or a kitchenette. For more information take a look at our website.
- Basic rooms: The basic rooms are our most popular rooms and usually get booked up first.
- Duoroom or duostudio: If you choose a duoroom then every potential tenant has to register for a room themselves. The name of the roommate has to be noted in the comment section.
- All rooms are furnished and include: bed with frame (without mattress), desk (without chair), wardrobe, wash basin with fixed mirror. The rooms in Bagatten-, Poort-, Jeruzalem- en Savaan House include a fridge (with a freezing compartment).
- Allocation: Giving your preference does not mean that you will automatically be allocated that room. It depends on your position in the ranking and how many rooms of that type become available.
- Practical: Keep your bank account number and national registration number close at hand when registering for a room.
- Parents who register for their child: Be sure to fill in the student's details, not your own.
- Special situations: If you have a difficult home situation or a particular need, then be sure to let us know. We always want to take this into consideration. Be sure to indicate this in your registration form and also contact the Stuvo staff members.
4. How do you know if you were allocated a room?
- You will receive an e-mail on the e-mail address you filled in during your registration with the room number and the name of the building.
- You’ll receive an e-mail with a link to the signature platform. There you can read and sign the rental agreement and the house rules. The signature deadline is 10 days. If you signed within 10 days, the room will be officially allocated to you.
- If you didn’t sign on time, the room is irrevocably released back to the waiting list.
- Rental agreements run from Monday September 14th, 2026 until Tuesday September 7th, 2027.
- The registration for a room at Artevelde UAS is free of charge. However, once you sign the rental agreement, it becomes a legally binding document. You can only terminate your tenancy agreement during the academic year if the grounds thereto are provided in your contract, e.g. because you stop studying. Be sure to read the rental agreement carefully before you sign it.
5. What needs to be arranged after you signed your rental agreement?
- You need to be enrolled at Artevelde UAS by the start of your rental period.
- You must pay the deposit of 600 euro within 15 days after signing the rental agreement.
- You must pay the first month of rent before the start date of the rental agreement.
6. Important to know
- We would like to emphasize that degree-seeking students can only rent for a maximum of one academic year. This has been implemented to give new degree-seeking students a chance to find housing. Furthermore, this helps reduce the risk of scams, which tends to be higher when searching for housing on the private market from abroad.
